of Marketing Associate available. We are looking for a person with technical
writing ability and brochure design skills. Someone with an agricultural
background is preferred. The Marketing staff at Diamond V support the
sales efforts of 14 regional salesmen nationwide as well as international
distributors in 35 foreign countries. Diamond V is best known as the
manufacturer of XP Yeast Culture, a fully fermented feed ingredient
that enhances the digestibility
and palatability of rations.

REPORTS TO: Director, Marketing
and Sales Service
SUMMARY: Responsible for performing
a wide variety of sales coordination, marketing projects with an emphasis
on technical animal nutrition content, data collection and analysis
and administrative functions in support of the company's Sales and Marketing
functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned
as needed.
- Responsible for the Market Definition
Project including but not limited to, data collection, database input
and management, reports, map generation and dissemination of information.
- Collect, analyze and present to management
information on various marketing projects under the direction of the
Director of Marketing and Sales Service.
- Performs intelligence-gathering work
under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Sales Service.
- Provides trade show and promotional
services support as well as communications support.
- Provides marketing support to the sales
organization.
- Makes customer contact under the direction
of the Director of Marketing and Sales Service.
MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE
- Assigned projects reflect quality and
are completed according to deadline.
- Soundness of operational decisions.
- Effectiveness of working relationships
with others in the company including communication, cooperation and
team effort.
SUPERVISORY/STAFFING RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports directly to the Director of
Marketing and Sales Service.
- Works closely with all sales, marketing,
technical and support personnel.
- Occasional contact with customers.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education, experience and
skills:
College degree in marketing or agri-business. Interest in agriculture
is required. Experience in food animal production helpful but not required.
Past experience with brochure design helpful. Must be able to demonstrate
working knowledge of Page Maker, Excel and Mail Merge. Excellent personal
computer skills are required. Strong written and verbal communication
skills are required. Ability to work independently, set priorities and
organize work effectively. Must be a self-starter. Must have ability
to analyze problems, propose reasonable solutions, make logical decisions,
carry out decisions and follow up when appropriate. Must have considerable
mental concentration to be able to set priorities, organize work effectively,
meet deadlines and work with a high degree of accuracy under frequent
time pressures and interruptions. Must have a valid driver's license,
good driving skills and be insurable. Ability to maintain the integrity
of highly confidential company information.
Physical, mental and environmental requirements:
This position requires travel
up to 20% of the time. Must be able to use PC, telephone, slide projector,
calculator, VCR and other typical office equipment. This position is
typical office work which involves sitting most of the time. Walking
and standing are frequently required. Exerts up to 10-20 pounds of force
occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Duties
require close vision, distance vision and a high degree of visual concentration
for data calculations. Fine finger movement is required for typing.
The ability to hear is necessary to answer the phone and listen to voice
mail messages.
