Use official chapter outlets for promotion such as email or newsletters and social media. Share the information with the NAMA office so they can add it to their Chapter Events page online. Keep in mind that word of mouth promotion is best, so give your current members ideas for emails to send (see Event Invitations) and social media posts to share to invite others to your event. Phone calls and in-person invitations can be very effective as well, so encourage those if members can do them.
Tips for event promotions:
Be brief and stick to the point.
Highlight why someone should attend. Let them know what is valuable and what they can expect to get out of the event.
Use short, positive comments from attendees of past events if possible.
If you use hashtags on social media, check them out before posting to make sure they are appropriate and not already used by someone else.
Include high quality photos or videos. If you have good images from your past events, they can be great for promoting future events. (If you need images for now, contact the NAMA office to see if they can provide general promotional photos and then plan to take pictures at your events in the future.)
